{"id":1450,"date":"2015-02-20T08:43:08","date_gmt":"2015-02-20T14:43:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/?p=1450"},"modified":"2015-02-20T08:43:08","modified_gmt":"2015-02-20T14:43:08","slug":"zanzibar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rickagostin.com\/?p=1450","title":{"rendered":"Zanzibar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First off, it\u2019s just fun to say.<em> Zzzzanz-i-baaarrr!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After <a title=\"Kilimanjaro Journal: Pre-Trip\" href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/kilimanjaro-journal-pre-trip\/\">hiking for a week<\/a>, the beach sounded like a lovely option, so we were off to Zanzibar, plus we wanted to practice our <a title=\"Lovely Lanta and Scuba Diving\" href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/lovely-lanta\/\">newly certified scuba<\/a> skills.<\/p>\n<p>Flying in we got a preview of the beautiful beaches.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120191.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1449\" src=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120191-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Flying into Zanzibar\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a>Before we could get to the beach we got stuck in a Zanzibar traffic jam for a few minutes. It gave a whole new meaning to \u201cThis is bull!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"This is Bull!\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/120145026?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But we had no idea just how beautiful they would be. Zanzibar by far has the best beaches we have seen on this trip!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120165.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1447\" src=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120165-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Naguwi Beach, Zanzibar\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a>\u00a0We indulged in fresh, delicious seafood dinners right on the beach almost every night.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120135.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1441\" src=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120135-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Nungwi Beach, Zanzibar\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120150.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1445\" src=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120150-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Nungwi Beach, Zanzibar\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a>And hung out with the herd of cows that hung out on the beach everyday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120138.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1442\" src=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120138-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Cow on Nungwi Beach, Zanzibar\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a>Our scuba diving was fun, but we were a little sad that we missed the whale sharks.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, the beaches were just incredible. We couldn\u2019t get over it!! Crystal clear water, powdery, ridiculously fine white sand. It was pretty awesome.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120158.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1446\" src=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120158-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Nungwi Beach, Zanzibar\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120145.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1444\" src=\"http:\/\/theagostins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1120145-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Nungwi Beach, Zanzibar\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a> Minus the three days that our bungalows didn\u2019t have water\u2026 that set us up for our 40+ hours of straight travel, including the 19.5 hour flight from Dubai to Buenos Aires.
